A black hole is an area of space-time where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape its gravitational pull. Given its ability to consume matter, some fear that a black hole could potentially “devour” the entire universe. However, scientists believe this is highly unlikely, as the enormous forces a black hole must overcome in order to engulf the universe make it virtually impossible.
