NASA has recently reestablished contact with Voyager 2, a spacecraft that launched in 1977 on a mission to explore the outer edges of the Solar System. After nearly fourteen months of communication disruption due to technical difficulties, engineers at JPL succeeded in restoring contact with the aging but still functional craft. The re-connection with Voyager 2 opens up further possibilities for science and exploration.
