An exoplanet orbiting a star 130 light years away was tracked for 17 years. Data collected was used to create an animation that shows how its orbit changes year by year, including moments of alignment with its star. The animation allows scientists to observe behavior of the planet which wouldn’t be detectable without tracking the orbit.
