Archaeologists in Portugal have recently discovered hundreds of ancient mummified bees, preserved within their cocoons. The bees are estimated to date back to the time of the Pharaohs, 4,500 years ago. It is believed that they were mummified as a primitive method of preserving them and were discovered at a Bronze Age burial site.
