August 26th brought an exceptionally warm day for the east coast as temperatures soared to an all-time high. 90 degree heat was seen in Manhattan while Philadelphia experienced a near-record 93 degrees. Areas of New Jersey saw highs up to 95 and Connecticut closed in on the century mark at 98 degrees. The heatwave is expected to stick around the area for the foreseeable future.
