Brazil’s data privacy watchdog found WebDetetive spyware on the Play Store and deleted it from the app store. The spyware posed a threat to user’s personal information, allowing third parties to access their data. The app is owned by a Brazilian company and had been illegally distributing information without users knowledge. The app store’s manager and the Brazilian company behind the app had their licenses revoked and could face consequences for the breach of privacy.
