Chinese households are displaying an increasingly high propensity for saving money during the current economic downturn. Consumer spending has dropped dramatically as consumers have become more cautious with their money amid rising unemployment and economic uncertainty. This stye of saving is an issue for policymakers as spending is required to provide an economic boost, however, it appears as if Chinese households are reluctant to spend. As a result, there is more economic trouble to come for China.
