Climate change has heavily affected the evolution of life on Earth. In particular, there have been five major discontinuities in the way evolution is affected by climate, which show that huge global events and long-term changes in Earth’s climate have had major impacts on both species’ adaptation and extinction. These disruptions have been critical in majorly affecting evolution throughout the Earth’s history.
