Scientists attribute this drastic change in temperature to global warming, cautioning that this event is only a further sign that temperatures are only going to keep rising. The prediction comes from the Space Weather Prediction Center and is said to coincide with an expected solar flare. Viewers in affected states may be able to experience the rare sight of the northern lights without having to travel very far from home.

The US Department of Justice is said to be working with Attorney Generals from several US states to probe whether Google’s business practices are harming competition, potentially leading to higher prices for consumers.
