Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of a tropical storm, set to bring significant rain and wind to the state. The storm is forecasted to cause flooding and other damage, bringing up to 10 inches of rain and to some extent, hurricane force wind gusts. Communities are urged to prepare for power outages and disrupted roads. An evacuation plan is already in place for several counties in Southern Florida. Citizens are advised to stay safe and obey evacuation orders if given.
