France is supporting the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in their effort to restore democracy in Niger, following a military coup which saw President Ibrahim Keita and the Prime Minister deposed. ECOWAS is calling for the immediate and unconditional re-establishment of constitutional order. France has expressed its support of this endeavor and has also pledged to help support Niger with financial and security resources to help reach their goal.
