India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission is a lunar exploration mission, with a scheduled launch in 2021. It will be India’s first soft-landing mission on the moon and the head of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has stated that it could occur as soon as December of 2023. The mission aims to properly map the moon’s south pole in order to investigate the presence of water and minerals there.
