India’s lunar mission climaxed with the successful landing of their unmanned vehicle Chandrayaan-2 on the Moon’s South Pole, but just before its rover was expected to explore the region, contact was lost. Though mission control subsequently received a signal from the lander due to its tilt, the rover still remains silent. Unfortunately, India’s exploration of the lunar surface has yet to be realized.
