Karen Vergata, originally from Connecticut, has been identified as one of the victims of the infamous Gilgo Beach murders in New York. She disappeared in 1995 and was just recently identified after the Suffolk County Police Department conducted a review on evidence recovered on the beach from 2011 to 2013. Vergata’s disappearance has largely gone unresolved for 25 years.
