Mackenzie Shirilla, a 19-year-old Ohio woman, received a life sentence after a fatal car crash resulting in the death of a three-year-old boy. Shirilla pleaded guilty but argued that her sentence was too harsh as the accident was a result of her mental health issues. Despite her strong plea, the judge ruled that the severity of her crime, combined with her police record, was a reason for the life sentence.
