Mars is spinning faster than previously thought, shortened its day from 24 hours to only 23 hours and 39 minutes. Research is still quite mysterious as to why this is happening, but suggests either small asteroids are hitting the planet or the planet is shrinking. Scientists think this phenomenon may be capable of providing insight into the inner workings of the solar system’s most mysterious planets.
