Mars’ rotation has been accelerating over the past few years due to the gravitational pull from its two natural satellites, Phobos and Deimos. Although it’s unclear what the long-term consequences of this faster rotation might be, glitches have been detected in the planet’s weather patterns that might be related. Scientists are unsure of what the evolution of the planet’s spin will look like over the long-term.
