Maui residents are suing the Hawaiian power company for allegedly starting wildfires through their electric transmission lines and utility poles. This class-action lawsuit accuses the company of negligence in using an outdated power shutoff protocol compared to what is used in California. Hawaiian Electric Company has yet to respond to the claims.
