Miami-Dade County’s massive evacuation effort before Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas, proved to be successful in defending lives and property. Over 660,000 people across the county evacuated before the storm in order to avoid possible destruction, and the teams in many of cities and the county responded quickly by setting up shelters and other measures. Dorian eventually made its way to Florida, with it causing flooding in some parts, but not the destruction that had been anticipated. Miami has now safely returned to normal, still focusing on the recovery of parts of the Bahamas and preparation for any upcoming storms.
