Post navigation Niger officials have closed the country’s airspace as a measure to prevent leaders of an attempted coup a few days ago from leaving the country. The coup was led by Col. Assimi Goïta, who was ascending into power after overthrowing democratically-elected president Mahamane. The airspace will remain closed until the situation can be de-escalated. A structure fire occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico that released a very large and visible plume of smoke into the air. This sent experts to issue a health alert, recommending the public to stay indoors and avoid smoke exposure. As a result of the fire, no injuries were reported.
