NASA’s Ingenuity Mars helicopter has successfully completed its first flight on Mars, hovering for approximately 30 seconds before returning to the Martian surface. This marks an historic event, as this is the first craft powered by an internal combustion engine to fly on another planet. As part of the Mars 2020 mission, Ingenuity will continue conducting test flights, demonstrating new capabilities for robots in Mars Exploration.
