Niger’s military government has given the civilian-led opposition until the end of August to come to an agreement and agree to a shared power or they face consequences. This ultimatum follows disagreements between the two sides over how to transition to the end of the military rule they undertook in April. Both sides must quickly agree to a deal that is fair and legitimate in order to save the country from descending deeper into chaos.
