On August 9th, 2021, Cincinnati Reds’ pitcher Michael Lorenzen threw the first no-hitter in the franchise’s history against the Philadelphia Phillies. This was the first no-hitter for the Reds since Homer Bailey’s in 2013, and the first Reds no-hitter outside of Cincinnati since 1921. Through 8 innings, Lorenzen struck out nine hitters and allowed only two runners to reach base, ultimately leading the Reds to a 7-0 victory.
