Post navigation JCPS (Jefferson County Public Schools) plans to welcome back students for in-person learning starting in the middle of next week. The district will be reinstating safety and health protocols to protect against the spread of COVID-19, as well as allowing students even with a hybrid approach to take all their learning online if they prefer. District officials are encouraging families to consider the option to help keep students safe in the school setting. Niger has been facing a military coup, and as a result, some West African countries have cancelled a meeting about launching a standby force. The ECOWAS, an economic union comprised of 16 countries, is taking a wait-and-see attitude to observe the resolution of the coup. The standby force was meant to be a joint African military unit to tackle security threats in the region.
