Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, recently signed an executive order that restricts public schools in the state from implementing so-called ‘divisive concepts’ into their curriculums, which includes the Advanced Placement Psychology course. DeSantis believes schools are getting too “woke” and are now condemning American values, which the executive order seeks to prevent. This new policy has caused deep concern with parents and teachers in the state who argue it impinges upon academic freedom and takes away educational resources.
