Russia and India are currently in a space race to be the first to land an rover on the lunar south pole.Both are taking unique, and vastly different, approaches to the mission. India has chosen to land its rover in the trough regions of the south pole, whereas Russia plans to land directly on the rim, making it to first to do so if successful.
