Russia and Ukraine continue to be locked in a continuing conflict fueled by unresolved tensions that began in 2014. The two countries have clashed over Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine, along with a host of other issues that leave the resolve of the conflict still in question. Both sides has seen military casualties from the continuing warfare, which has recently shifted from skirmishes to an increase in both long-range artillery fire and rocket launchers. Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, there is still not an end in sight to the long-standing conflict in this region.
