Russia recently launched the Luna 25 mission which is designed to explore the moon’s south pole. This mission will rely on a robotic spacecraft to deploy a drill and analyze the samples gathered beneath the surface of the moon. The current scheduled for the Luna 25 mission is expected to be completed in 2030.
