Saturn’s iconic rings probably formed after two of its moons collided a million years ago. By using computer simulations, scientists have discovered that the debris from the collision formed Saturn’s beautiful rings as they coalesced and clumped together. This is an incredible finding that gives insight into the formation of Saturn’s rings and our solar system.
