SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from California’s Vandenberg Air Force Base on December 22. The rocket carried a satellite that will provide commercial broadband internet services to people in Latin America and the Caribbean. Spectators as far away as Santa Barbara County had the opportunity to observe the launch and its luminous display in the late evening sky.
