The family of Ahmaud Arbery, an African-American man who was fatally shot while jogging in Georgia earlier this year, is to receive $3m in a settlement after filing a civil lawsuit against the men accused of his killing. In addition to the settlement, the defendants have agreed to dismiss their counterclaim and issue an apology. The announcement of the settlement comes nearly one year after the killing, an event which sparked nationwide protests and calls for increased justice reform.
