The James Webb Space Telescope detected two gravitational lensing events occurring in a massive galaxy cluster. These two events were called the ‘Fishhook’ (due to its curved shape) and the ‘Thin One’ (due to its straight shape). Gravitational lenses help astronomers study distant galaxies and can even detect events such as supernovae explosions.
