The northern lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are predicted to be visible in a vast stretch of the country, ranging from 16 US states, on July 13th. The prediction comes from the Space Weather Prediction Center and is said to coincide with an expected solar flare. Viewers in affected states may be able to experience the rare sight of the northern lights without having to travel very far from home.
