The Perseid meteor shower, one of the most popular celestial events of the year, is expected to peak on Saturday night. During its peak, stargazers could potentially see up to 50 meteors per hour. Viewing the meteor shower is most ideal in the early-morning light however some meteors can still be seen before midnight.
