The Supreme Court has ruled to temporarily lift a requirement that women seeking medication abortions must visit a doctor’s office or clinic in person during the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was made in response to a lawsuit filed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, arguing that the in-person requirement puts women at risk of contracting the virus. The ruling will allow women to receive the medication through telemedicine and have it delivered by mail.
