The Y chromosome, which is responsible for male features, has been fully sequenced for the first time ever. This has allowed researchers to uncover a massive amount of data on its structure and function. This work provides the basis for a better understanding of genetic diseases, including infertility, and could start new treatments for disorders in the future.
