This week, an astronomical event called the ‘transit of Mercury’ will occur, where the planet Mercury will pass directly between Earth and the Sun. During this event, Mercury will appear to slowly move across the face of the Sun and then slowly disappear. It will last about 5 hours and can be seen with a telescope, special=purpose solar filters, or projected onto a wall.
