United Launch Alliance’s Vulcan rocket returned to Space Launch Complex 41 for its second certification mission, essential for launching national security payloads for the U.S. Space Force and National Reconnaissance Office. The Cert-2 mission is scheduled for liftoff on Friday, Oct. 4, within a three-hour window starting at 6 a.m. EDT. The rocket was stacked on Sept. 21 and moved to the launchpad on a sunny, hot, and humid Monday following Hurricane Helene. The journey began at 10:27 a.m.
