World Activists are requesting that Minnesota State Troopers be held accountable following the arrest of an african-american man, Ricky Cobb, who was beaten and left with a broken jaw and broken eye socket after his encounter with police. They are calling for the troopers involved to be fired and criminally prosecuted for their actions. Cobb’s lawyer believes excessive force was used and they are seeking further investigation. This indictment focused on charges of obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and bribery in connection to the election interference scandal. World On October 27, 2018, a man shot and killed 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was charged with 44 federal charges which could include the death penalty if found guilty. U.S. prosecutors announced that they will seek the death penalty for the man, who has pleaded not guilty. World Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire, have announced the decision to end their marriage after 21 years together. The couple stated that their decision came after taking “much time and reflection” and the two will remain a “close family” in support of their three children. World Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that the government will be allowing international partners to separate for up to two years in order to become permanent residents or citizens of Canada. This ‘flexible pathway’ will not require individuals to have already obtained permanent residency, making it an easier process for those wishing to live in Canada. The authorities have received numerous tips concerning other possible victims of the man, and they are asking for members of the public to call in with even more tips. World The current legal battle involving Donald Trump’s attempts to invalidate the 2020 election results recently culminated in a second impeachment of the former president. Pence’s refusal to comply with Trump’s demands to overturn the election, culminating in the January 6th riots, may make him less likely to be included in the 2024 ticket.
