A NASA mission to simulate living on Mars concluded with four volunteers—Kelly Haston, Ross Brockwell, Anca Selariu, and Nathan Jones—emerging from a 1,700-square-foot habitat after 378 days. Starting on June 25, 2023, they lived in the 3D-printed Mars Dune Alpha, performing tasks like habitat maintenance and sample collection. NASA monitored their health and performance to understand the stresses and risks of long missions, especially with limited nutrition. Haston expressed gratitude and humility for the experience and the support from her family.
