The Natural History Museum in Los Angeles is mounting a new dinosaur species named “Gnatalie,” notable for its unique green bones, colored by the mineral celadonite during fossilization. Discovered in 2007 in Utah, Gnatalie lived 150 million years ago in the late Jurassic Era. Celadonite’s formation in volcanic conditions, which usually destroy bones, makes this green coloration rare. The dinosaur’s discovery aims to engage visitors in scientific exploration.
