SpaceX has temporarily grounded its Falcon 9 rocket following an issue with the upper stage during the Crew-9 astronaut launch for NASA. Crew-9, carrying NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, launched successfully, with the Falcon 9’s first stage landing and the Crew Dragon capsule “Freedom” reaching its orbit. However, the upper stage experienced an off-nominal deorbit burn, landing outside the targeted area. This incident, the second in three months, has led to the postponement of a scheduled launch of 20 broadband satellites for Eutelsat OneWeb.
