A “ring of fire” annular solar eclipse will be visible on Wednesday over Easter Island and parts of Argentina and Chile. During an annular eclipse, the moon covers the sun except for a ring-shaped sliver, as the moon is farther from Earth. This eclipse will mostly occur over the Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse can be seen from Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Hawaii. Solar eclipses occur about two to five times a year.
