A bus transporting school children and teachers crashed and caught fire outside Bangkok, resulting in 20 children and three teachers dead. The bus, returning from a school trip, burst into flames after a front tire blew out and it hit a concrete barrier. The driver, who initially tried to extinguish the fire, fled but later surrendered to police. Nineteen children and three teachers survived, with sixteen hospitalized. The bus was powered by compressed natural gas, deemed “extremely risky” by Transport Minister Suriyahe Juangroongruangkit. Identifying the badly burnt bodies has been challenging.
