A Moscow court ordered the arrest of Yulia Navalnaya, widow of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who lives abroad. The Basmanny District Court charged her with alleged involvement in an extremist group. Navalny, a critic of President Putin, died in February in an Arctic penal colony while serving a 19-year sentence. Navalnaya, accusing Putin of her husband’s death, vowed to continue his work. She mocked the court’s order on social media, while her spokesperson called the ruling a recognition of her “merits.” Russian officials deny involvement in Navalny’s poisoning and death.
