An Australian army private, Kira Korolev, and her husband, Igor Korolev, were denied bail on charges of preparing for espionage under Australia’s 2018 laws. The Russian-born Australian citizens allegedly sought Australian Defense Force material to provide to Russian authorities. They did not enter pleas and will appear in federal court on Sept. 20. Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw stated no significant compromise had been identified, and the investigation continues.
