World A helicopter chartered to pick up a critically ill patient crashed into an apartment building in Florida yesterday evening, leaving an 8-foot long section of the copter’s tail in its wake. Priority 1 Air Rescue, who were responsible for the flight, said the pilot and nurse suffered only minor injuries but the patient died after the ambulance taking them to the hospital in Jacksonville crashed. World Kenneth Smith, a death row inmate in Alabama, was executed by nitrogen hypoxia on April 10, 2019. Smith had been on death row since 1994 after being convicted of capital murder in December of that year. The Alabama Department of Corrections said Smith was the first inmate in the state to be executed using nitrogen hypoxia, an experimental execution method. The state resorted to using the gas rather than other methods due to legal issues surrounding the traditional use of lethal drugs.
