Eighty years after Allied soldiers parachuted into Nazi-occupied Netherlands during World War Two, 700 paratroopers from eight NATO nations will reenact the jump at Ginkel Heath to commemorate Operation Market Garden. This event, featuring the British Red Devils, marks the anniversary of the ambitious offensive aimed at capturing key bridges over the Rhine. The operation’s failure at Arnhem is remembered as “a bridge too far.” Recently, two British soldiers killed in the operation were honored with military burials. Their remains were identified and laid to rest with full military honors.
