Israel’s recent airstrikes in Lebanon destroyed about half of Hezbollah’s missile and rocket stockpile, accumulated over three decades, significantly impacting the militia’s capabilities. Despite this, Hezbollah still possesses tens of thousands of projectiles that could overwhelm Israel’s “Iron Dome” defense system. The strikes aimed to allow 60,000 Israelis to return to northern Israel. Hezbollah, supported by Iran, had built up an arsenal of 120,000 to 200,000 projectiles. Following the strikes, Hezbollah sought to replenish its stockpile, leading to Israel’s decision to target Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, whose death has complicated Hezbollah’s resupply efforts.
