NASA’s Europa Clipper, a probe the length of a basketball court, is set to explore Jupiter’s moon Europa, believed to harbor a deep ocean. With around 50 close flybys, the mission aims to determine if Europa has the conditions to support life. Launching on Oct. 10 from Kennedy Space Center, the probe’s large size is due to its need for extensive solar arrays to generate power in deep space. If Europa is found to be habitable, a second mission will land to investigate further.
